Easy Like Sunday Morning

What's easy, you might be asking? Printing out adorable free Halloween goodies!

Like these candy corn cupcake toppers from Yellow Mums. Each Friday she puts up wonderful (and free!) printables. It's the first site I visit on Friday mornings.

Picture from Yellow Mums.

I can't wait to make some Halloween cupcakes and use these as toppers. You could also make ties for Halloween goodie bags, adorable mini garland, or stickers. Lots of options. Lots of fun!

Get Your Halloween Freebies!

Happy Friday! (I think those may be two of the best words in the English language.) You all remember my friend Lauren, right? ("Hi, Lauren!")

She just opened a new stationery shop, Pinwheel Press. She also created the new attempting creative title image for this web site. She's a very talented graphic artist. And other than the fact she's an Alabama fan, she's pretty awesome all the way 'round. (Plus, she has the most adorable dog.)

That's Murphy. He's the best.

To add to that awesomeness, she is giving away free printables of some of my most favorite things she's ever done: the Halloween tags!! They don't have to cupcake flags. You could use them for just about anything. In fact, if you do use them, send me some pictures of what you did. I'd love to share!

Go get 'em here. And tell her Kimberly sent you!

Get These Toppers!

If you saw the green cupcakes yesterday, I told you I had a special download coming today. And here it is!

For this larger flag, the clover is a 2-inch circle, and the scalloped outer circle is 2-and-1/2-inches.

And here's what I have available for you... They are one-inch clovers, so I used a 1 1/2-inch circle punch to cut it out and a 1 7/8-inch scalloped circle punch for the background.

Download the clovers here. And if you use them for anything, e-mail me a link. I can't wait to see!!

Download here.

Printable St. Patrick's Freebies

As promised - bag toppers and poems for everyone!! You can print and use as often as you'd like. I made the shamrock pendants and share that here.

Here's what I did with them.

Print the bag toppers, and cut them with scissors or straight-edge cutter.

Print the poems, and cut them apart. I used decorative scissors to make it look better - or obvious that I wasn't using a straight-edge cutter. :)

Pierce two holes and slide the pendant through at the bottom of the poem.

Fold the bag topper in half and glue or staple to the bag.

If you use the topper, send me a comment or an e-mail. I'd love to share with others your great ideas!

So, here you go...

This is the poem page. You can download it here or by clicking on the image below.

And the bag topper. Download it here or click on the image.

The inspiration came from Amy over at Living Locurto. She's an amazing designer. I'm just pretending (and have learned my lesson).

Please e-mail me at attemptingcreative at hotmail dot com if you have any questions. Or just leave me a comment. Have fun!

I (Word) Searched My Whole Life For You

Discovery Education lets you make your very own Word Search, Cross Word, Cryptograms, and other fun word games for free!

Creative idea for Valentine's: Type in words that mean something to you and your hunny bunny, print out on pretty (pink) paper, and let him get to searching. If he finds them all, he gets a special valentine!

DIY Valentine's Day Brownie Bags

Can I tell you I am so far behind in reading blogs and catching up with what you all are doing I might never dig out??? I guess that's what this weekend is for. So pardon my lack of commenting. I haven't been a very good blogger buddy lately! I will do better. Promise - ♥ Kimberly :)

----------------------------------------

I am so in ♥ with these V-day goodie bags from one of my favorite creative blogs, Twig & Thistle. (Actually, let me rephrase that. She's an amazing, knock-your-socks off graphic designer who I may or may not have a massive blogger crush on.) And guess what? You can print these and use them for your Valentine's Day treats. For free!

See the great posts here and here.

Then download the bags and print them - here and here.

Great Giveaway

In honor of the plethora of Valentine's Day postings you've already seen (and the many more to come), I found this piece of art from Red Letter Words and wanted to share. Despite not having a "beloved," I love the sentiment of this piece and know many of you will love it for your beloved as well.

And good news... Traci at Beneath My Heart is sponsoring an amazing giveaway! You can get one of these amazing pieces of art! Click here to find out how.

This is my absolute favorite - His Eye is on the Sparrow Brown with Blue Bird. So beautiful and so very dear to my heart.

Pretty Patterns

Maybe I'd have better luck carving if I had great patterns. I normally just go after a pumpkin with a carving knife and hope something like a face comes out in the end. The Pumpkin Lady has some great patterns, and if you look at the bottom of each theme page, you'll likely find a free one. I like free! Below are the patterns Toothy and Trick or Treat. Look for them on her page.

Know of some other great pattern sites? Let me know.
